Nellie E. Musson Award

Nellie Musson, a Bermudian born in 1926, is recognised as a major contributor to Bermuda’s awareness of the local trailblazers of her era. Her accomplishments include her self-published books entitled Mind the Onion Seed, A Bermuda Trail Blazer: The Legendary Marjorie Louise Bean, Children of the Enterprise and Missing Mr. Read. She was also an entrepreneur, opening LaNel Beauty Salon after studying hairdressing in New York in 1957.

This award was established by the Department in 2007 to fund original historical research on Bermuda.
